Casey Doose named new principal of South O Elementary

Casey Doose is thrilled to join the team at South Oceanside Elementary School at the start of the 2023-24 school year. Mrs. Doose comes to South O from Ivey Ranch where she currently serves as principal. She takes over for David Morrow who retired this year. 

The Oceanside Unified School District is Mrs. Doose’s home. She attended OUSD from grades K-12. She began her career in education in OUSD over 20 years ago. She has two daughters attending school within the district, and has a husband who teaches Spanish at ECHS. 


Mrs. Doose received her Bachelor's Degree in Physiology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.  She obtained her Master's Degree in Education from National University and earned her National Board Certification in the area of Early Adolescence Science.  Mrs. Doose holds multiple credentials including California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, Single Subject Teaching Credential for Mathematics, and a California Administrative Services Credential. 


Humor and kindness are of the utmost importance to Mrs. Doose and she puts effort each day into using both to create a warm, welcoming, and effective learning environment for the students, families, and staff.
