Jefferson Falcon Community support requested for H-CBOC Committee Vacancies

The H-CBOC (Prop H Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee) will have 2 vacancies as of July 1st.  At their last meeting, it was recommended that since a portion of the remaining Prop H funds will be used to modernize our site Jefferson Middle School, it would be appropriate that one or both of these vacancies be filled by members of our Falcon community.
H-CBOC is the committee that is responsible for overseeing expenditures, reviewing quarterly reports to ensure that the Prop H bond proceeds are expended only for the purposes set forth in the ballot measure and approved by the Board.
The vacancies as of July 1st will be in the following categories:
  • Active member in an Oceanside business organization (ex: business owner, manager, or supervisor)
  • Active member in a bona-fide taxpayers' association
Any of our community members, Scholar families, local Jefferson Alumni, or Oceanside residents who are interested in committing to participation in this committe, and who qualify may submit an application to participate on this committee.  Meetings are only 3 times per year.  The qualification standards are:
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Reside within the Oceanside Unified School District's geographic boundary
  • May not be an OUSD employee or administrator
  • May not be an OUSD vendor, contractor, or consultant
The application is linked here.  The H-BOC committee's next meeting is in October, but we would like to get these vacancies filled before then.
