    WELCOME TO PRESCHOOL

OUSD hosts four state funded preschool sites at Del Rio, Mission, North Terrace, and Santa Margarita Schools.

Preschool classrooms have an 8:1 student to teacher ratio. All schools feature an instructional practice that is culturally and linguistically tailored to meet the social, emotional, physical and educational needs of each student. Children learn best in an environment with consistent limits and when they are allowed to make choices leading toward self-direction, independence, creativity and divergent thinking.

Please be aware that currently all  3 year old students will automatically be waitlisted for their school of choice.  Typically, spaces will open after the school year has started and families move from the area.  This can happen anytime, from September and into the new year.

  • Registration now open!

Registration update:  North Terrace Elementary and Santa Margarita Elementary are currently Full for the 2021-2022 school year.

Families, we are excited to announce that our Preschool Enrollment Application is now open!  We invite you to create a Family Dashboard account that will allow you to enroll your children, securely upload required documents, and communicate with our staff. Video tutorials are available on the Scribbles front page to walk you through the process. We will be sending status updates to your Family Dashboard so that you can stay up to date with the progression of the preschool application. We look forward to serving you and your child!
