Dear Santa Margarita Families,
I am looking forward to a fantastic school year! My name is Pamela Cooper and I am thrilled to be joining the Santa Margarita School family as your Assistant Principal.
I have been an educator for over 28 years serving as a General and Special Education teacher, Elementary Teaching Assistant Principal and Instructional Coach. In addition to a credential in Educational Leadership from California State University, Fullerton, I hold, both, multiple subject and special education credentials anchored in a BA degree in Liberal studies and a MA degree in Special Education. As a veteran teacher in Southern California school districts, I have been part of the ever-evolving Professional Learning Community and have participated in collaborative teaching and leading in many capacities. My greatest joy is to work together with teachers, staff and parents in order to facilitate student achievement on multiple levels. Recently, I spent two years in Okinawa with my family where I had the pleasure of supporting our military community as a teacher with DoDEA.
I have a deep connection to the Southern California community, having been raised, educated, lived, worked and raised two children here. I currently live in Laguna Beach with my husband of 25 years, who is an Assistant Fire Chief on Camp Pendleton, our two children and our dog, Bonnie.
I am excited to be supporting the students, staff and parents of Santa Margarita School. Please do not hesitate to reach out and introduce yourself. I am delighted to be working with a staff committed to providing a welcoming, encouraging and empowering environment for all students to thrive both academically and emotionally. I can’t wait to see where this year takes us!
Sincerely,
Pamela Cooper
Assistant Principal
