Christa McAuliffe Elementary School is part of the Oceanside Unified School District, a TK-12 district located in north San Diego county. As one of twenty-three schools in the district, we offer a full academic program to approximately 570 students.
Our district’s vision is that all students will graduate college and career ready, prepared to be responsible global citizens and ambitious future leaders. Students are challenged and rewarded every day in this rich learning environment.
High on a hill-top in Oceanside, our park-like setting is serene and beautiful. The grounds are well kept and the view is magnificent with snow capped mountains to the north and the ocean to the west! Students can often be found reading on the grass, searching for caterpillars in the gardens, or outside playing on the new playgrounds.
As a former California Distinguished School we are constantly reflecting and refining our practice in order to give our students excellent programs. This year the staff at McAuliffe researched how to make our programs stand out amongst the competition. The staff and I are excited about the coming school years as we plan to give students opportunities to participate in performing arts programs, STEAM projects, and Project Based Learning (PBL) lessons.
