I am so excited to join the Ivey Ranch Coyotes for another great year! I am originally from the Inland Empire area and settled into Oceanside, California in 2019. My education includes a B. A. in Psychology, M. S. in Counseling & Guidance, and a P. P. S. credential, all earned from California State University, San Bernardino. As a first generation college graduate, and daughter of immigrants, I understand the potential struggles many students face in regards to education. My goal when working with students includes planting the roots of resilience, so students are able to learn the tools needed to overcome current and future challenges. I became a school counselor because of the positive experiences I had with my own high school counselor. I will never forget her care, kindness, and willingness to go above and beyond to help me succeed in attaining my goals and is something I strive to emulate with my own students.
I currently service Ivey Ranch Elementary and Christa McAuliffe Elementary.
Services provided include:
-Individual counseling and check-ins with students (currently via Zoom)
-Group counseling (currently paused due to COVID-19)
-Monthly classroom lessons on socioemotional learning
-Community mental health referrals to Palomar Family Counseling
-Monthly newsletter with parent/guardian resources connected to the monthly lesson
-Parent workshops to assist in specific topics
