Welcome to the 2023-24 school year here in Wildcat country, where the sun always shines! As I begin my sixth year as principal at ECHS and my 30th year working in the Oceanside school district, I am excited about this school year. I remain committed to doing all I can to serve the students here in Oceanside, and I look forward to all the amazing experiences our students will encounter.
Our staff is prepared to ensure all of our scholars are provided with a rigorous, quality education while also ensuring fun activities that play a huge part in a student’s high school experience. While academics is our main focus, we highly encourage all of our scholars to participate in one of our many clubs and/or sports teams. These extracurricular activities provide additional interactions with fellow scholars outside of the classroom and can lead to lifelong friendships.
As a Wildcat community of learners, we continue our focus on our Core Values: Perseverance, Empathy, Responsibility, Respect and Collaboration. PERRC Up, Wildcats! These are the values that we have chosen to live by as we interact with one another here in Wildcat country. As a staff, we are committed to our core values and appreciate our partnership with parents and guardians as we strive to ensure that all of our scholars also know the importance of embodying and daily living by these core values.
As a graduate of the Oceanside Unified School District and a lifelong member of the Oceanside community, I know and value the importance of a great education! This is a special year for me as I will have both of my children here at ECHS - a Senior and a Freshman. As we embark on this journey together, if you see your scholar struggling with academics or social-emotional issues, please reach out to us so we can partner with you to provide the support your scholar needs to be successful.
Please consider supporting our students by becoming a bigger part of the Wildcat community. You can participate in one of our booster groups such as EC PAWS (El Camino Parents Assisting Wildcat Sports), Drama/Choir Boosters, or the Instrumental Music Boosters. You can also provide feedback through our LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) survey or my monthly Coffee with the Principal meetings.
Let’s have an amazing year! Goooooo Wildcats!
