Principal- Casey Doose
Mrs. Doose is thrilled to work in the Oceanside Unified School District, as OUSD is her home. She began her career in education in OUSD over 20 years ago, attended school within the district from grades K-12, has two daughters attending school within the district, and has a husband who teaches Spanish at ECHS (go Wildcats!).
Mrs. Doose has experienced a variety of instructional opportunities throughout her years of service as an educator:
- she taught grades 4-12, focusing on multiple subject instruction as well as acting as a math, science, and ELD teacher;
- she was a teacher on special assignment for OUSD, supporting teacher professional learning and curriculum writing in the area of literacy, history/social science, and science;
- she fulfilled duties as an OUSD Coordinator for Curriculum & Instruction;
- she served as an Assistant Principal in the Del Mar Union School District;
- and she is excited to continue as Ivey Ranch’s principal!
Mrs. Doose received her Bachelor's Degree in Physiology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She obtained her Master's Degree in Education from National University and earned her National Board Certification in the area of Early Adolescence Science. Mrs. Doose holds multiple credentials including California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, Single Subject Teaching Credential for Mathematics, and a California Administrative Services Credential.
When not engaged in school related activities, Mrs. Doose enjoys spending most of her time laughing with and living in the company of her family and friends. She loves to exercise (running and weight lifting are her go-to’s), go to the movies with her daughters, Laurel (11) and Andie (8), and travel to places that allow her husband to surf (he gets a little cranky if he has to stay on dry land for too long but don't tell him she said that!).
Humor and kindness are of the utmost importance to Mrs. Doose and she puts effort each day into using both to create a warm, welcoming, and effective learning environment for the students, families, and staff at IR.
