• Attendance

If you miss school, you miss out, and we miss you!

We have two ways to report an absence quickly and efficiently!

    How to Report an Absence:

    Email: attendance.lms@oside.us           OR           Call: 760-901-8901

A parent/guardian must email or call Lincoln's 24-hour Attendance Line before 10:00am each and every day the student is absent.

If you are unable to do so, a note explaining the absence will be accepted on the day that your child returns to school.

Unexcused absences affect attendance reporting and the loss of Panther PRIDE Awards.

Please report your child's absence within the first 3 days of their absence.

    "Two is Too Many!"

Even if a student was absent two days a month for the next 6 months, they would be considered to be chronically absent.

Acceptable excuses for absences or tardies:

    Medical/Dental appointment

Funeral of a family member (1 day in CA, 3 days out of CA)

    Court Appearance

Unacceptable excuses for absences or tardies:

    Transportation Issues

    Woke up late

    Sibling was late

    Personal Fun Day

*Virtual Learning: Students should be in their assigned virtual classroom by 8:00 am, or they may be considered "tardy"

Any student not in his/her assigned classroom at the 7:30am bell is considered "tardy" and must obtain an Admit Slip from the Attendance Office.  Unexcused tardies may result in a 20 minute lunchtime or after school Reflection, where the student will discuss with an Administrator or Staff member about strategies to avoid being tardy in the future.

    Early Pick-up:

Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to pick up a student early.

Staff cannot summon a student from class within the last 15 minutes of the school day.

The same Excused/Unexcused rules above apply.

    Independent Study Contracts:

If a student will be out of town for 5 days or more, an Independent Study contract may be completed to excuse the absences. This will need to be arranged with a two week notice to get the proper work ahead of time.

    Please call 760-901-8902 for details.

     Excessive Excused & Unexcused Absences:

After 15 excused absences, a doctor’s note will be required to excuse any future absences.

An alternative is for the school Health Office to confirm the illness.

After 10 unexcused absences, the student and parents/guardians will be referred to the School Attendance Review Board (SARB).

The Board of Education amended administrative regulation 5113(a).

The policy now reads, "Absences must be cleared within 5 school days after the student returns to school."
