• School Counselor's Corner

  • Hello Mustang Family,

It is my pleasure to introduce myself as the new school counselor at Santa Margarita School! My name is Guadalupe Frías or Ms. Marilú. It is with great enthusiasm that I join this brave and resilient community to serve and support our students in their academic and personal growth, as well as our families, our staff and community stakeholders.

I have been fortunate to call Oceanside my home for over 25 years and have been working in the field of Education for over 16 years in various capacities. I am thankful for the privilege to work with our students at Sta Margarita and to be able to learn from them. I genuinely believe children are rising stars and that if given the right opportunities and support they can thrive in their own capacity.

My approach to counseling is rooted in empathy, respect, and collaboration, as I believe that a strong partnership between students, parents, teachers, administrators, and the counselor is fundamental to achieving positive outcomes to support the whole child in the socioemotional, academic, and vocational realms. I am committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels valued, heard, and empowered.

In my role as a School Counselor, I will be conducting individual and group counseling, lessons to address diverse topics such as academic achievement, career exploration, social skills, and emotional well-being. Additionally, I will be available to provide guidance on personal concerns, and any other challenges that may arise during a student's educational journey.

I am super excited to collaborate with the outstanding team at Santa Margarita! I am open to participation and encourage parents and guardians to reach out to discuss any concerns or questions they may have regarding their child's wellbeing and success.

Please feel free to contact me by email at: Guadalupe.frias@oceanside.us or by phone at 760.901.7964

I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know each of you in the coming weeks and throughout the year!

     Warmest regards,

     Ms. Marilú
