My name is Jennifer Andrews and I am honored to be your Assistant Principal at San Luis Rey. I grew up in Oceanside and lived on Camp Pendleton during my younger years. I went to North Terrace, San Rafael, San Luis Rey, Del Rio, and Lincoln! Then, we moved to Vista Unified. I certainly learned how to adapt and know what it's like to be the "new kid".
I was the first in my family to go to college and knew that I wanted to be a teacher after fourth grade with Mrs. Boogay, fifth with Miss Rocklin (pictured below, can you spot me? :) ) at San Luis Rey, and sixth with Mr. Stephens at Del Rio. They were incredible teachers! I received my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Chico State University in 1996 and received my multiple subjects credential from California State University, San Marcos in 1999. I earned my master's degree in Educational Administration in May 2019.
I began my teaching career at Pacifica Elementary in 2000 and have taught fourth grade and kindergarten. After receiving my master's, I decided to make a leap into administration. I love being a support to students, families, school staff, and my principals.
In my time outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, cooking, scrapbooking, and traveling. I spend my weekends hanging with my family outdoors and catching up on housework. My husband, Brian, and I have been married for nineteen years. My daughter, Paige, is fifteen years old and a freshman in high school. My son, Nick, is thirteen years old and in seventh grade. We have a chocolate labrador retriever, Hazel, and a bunny, Collins. I am blessed to be able to live close to my parents, as well as my brother, Jay.
I am at your service and my door is always open!
