  • Students today are growing up in a digital world, where they are constantly immersed in technology. Navigating cyberbullying, privacy, safety, and other digital dilemmas are a real challenge for students, schools, and families. But technology also provides incredible opportunities for students to learn, connect, create, and collaborate in ways never before imagined.

Santa Margarita has developed a Digital Citizenship Plan to build a positive school culture that supports the safe, respectful and responsible use of technology.  We are applying to be one of the first schools in Oceanside that is a certified Digital Citizenship School.  To do that, students are receiving direct instruction on a wide array of digital citizenship topics, including:

    • Internet Safety
    • Privacy & Security
    • Relationships & Communication
    • Cyberbullying & Digital Drama
    • Digital Footprint & Reputation
    • Self-image & Identity
    • Information Literacy
    • Creative Credit & Copyright

We encourage parents to continue the Digital Citizenship conversation at home, using the resources from Common Sense Media Education.
