Proposition 28 Arts and Music in Schools

The Oceanside Unified School District will expand its investment in arts education for its elementary, middle, and high school students through the strategic use of Proposition 28 funds. The funds from Prop. 28 will promote the exposure of arts of our youngest learners through arts focused enrichment teachers in each elementary school. The enrichment teachers will focus on visual arts and performing arts integrated lessons aimed to broaden students' creative horizons through standards-based VAPA lessons. This funding will also be used to expand our elementary music programming throughout the district. At the secondary level, these funds allow for an expansion and enhancement of existing visual performing arts programs at our middle and high school levels. This initiative seeks to nurture artistic talent, foster cultural appreciation, and provide all of our students with more opportunities to explore, and excel and thrive within the arts ensuring a will-rounded education.
