State Preschool

WELCOME!

Oceanside Unified School District (OUSD) is proud to serve our youngest learners through our state preschool program.

OUSD hosts two state-funded preschool sites: North Terrace, and Santa Margarita Schools. (Santa Margarita School is limited to families with access to Camp Pendleton).

There is no pre-registration or registration online for State Preschool.

We are accepting interest packets for the 2024-2025 State Preschool Program, in person, by appointment on Thursdays at the ESS District Office (2080 Mission Ave., Oceanside, CA 92058). To schedule your appointment for packet review and submission, please contact Jessica Castro 760-901-7103

Registration Requirements:

Submit a copy of the following mandatory documents:

Submission of your documents will not guarantee enrollment. Qualified applicants will be notified and invited to a registration appointment after review and ranking. 

Please ensure that all required documents are present and up to date. Any packets with expired or missing items will not be collected.

• December 2024 income (pay stubs from both parents for one full month) and any additional sources of income. 

• One proof of address (mortgage/ rental statement, or utility bill)

• Birth Certificates for all children 18 yrs and younger in the family.

• Child’s up-to-date immunizations

• Negative TB test result (within last 12 months), immunized against pertussis, measles, and influenza for the parent/guardian 

• Current negative TB test results for the child

• Child’s current physical Physician's Report Form 

• Child’s current Special Meal Accommodations; Comidas Especiales

• Printed copy of IEP (if applicable)

Eligibility 

In order to participate in the program, parents/guardians must meet income eligibility requirements as determined by the California Department of Education. Children enrolled in the program must live in the OUSD boundaries.  Children must turn three or four years old by December 1st. Child may be enrolled on or after third birthday.
