Oceanside Unified School District offers Transitional Kindergarten (TK) at all of the elementary school sites.

For the 2023-2024 School Year: students turning 5 between September 2, 2023 and April 2, 2024

Students will attend a minimum school day for the first three weeks of school in August to allow students to gradually transition into the school environment. The teachers will meet once with each student/family in a one-on-one meeting during the afternoon. 

This program offers young learners a head start and provides them with a golden opportunity to learn and grow in an environment  tailored to meet their academic and social needs.

• TK is taught by credentialed teachers with extra training.
• TK uses a specialized curriculum based on California Early Childhood Frameworks and Foundations.
• TK classrooms have a 12:1 student to adult ratio.
