Social Studies/History
Students at King Middle School expand their knowledge of history by engaging in a wide variety of topics. King sixth graders study ancient Western and non-Western civilizations and the effect of geography on human development.
Seventh graders delve into the medieval era, early modern times and the Enlightenment.
In their final year at King, eighth graders examine the effects of the Enlightenment on Colonial America, while further exploring the political, economic, and social development of the United States.
In their exploration of these topics, students use primary source material, conduct their own research, consider multiple perspectives and reflect on their studies in order to deepen their own understanding of history.
