ASSETS 2022-2023
21st Century After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens
-
The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) partners with school districts and charter schools across the county in the implementation of the High School After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens (ASSETs) grant.
Forty-one local high school campuses have created site-specific programs that include tutoring, homework assistance, California High School Exit Exam and college and career prep courses, visual and performing arts, youth leadership, service learning, and physical activity. In addition, the grant will offer family literacy and educational services to support parents of students in the program. Regular participation in high-quality after school programs is linked to gains in student achievement, increased regular-day attendance, a reduction in behavior problems and increased graduation rates.

OHS ASSETS Budget
We receive approximately $250,000 from the CDE/SDCOE
We currently have about $35,000 from 2019-20 that must be spent by December 2020. We do not know how much we will receive for 2020-2021, will depend on the CDE budget.
