Graduating Class of 2010 and Prior

High School Graduation Requirements

Students must complete 240 units of credit and complete units in the following specific content areas and minimum amounts in order to receive a high school diploma.  Five credits are the equivalent of one semester. 
 
STUDENTS MUST PASS THE MATH AND ENGLISH CALIFORNIA HIGH SCHOOL EXIT EXAMS (CAHSEE) IN ORDER TO GRADUATE

  • US History or AP US History
  • Government (Civics) Economics or AP Government

  • English 10
  • American Literature or AP English Language
  • Expository Reading and Writing or AP English Literature

  • Algebra 1 (required)
  • Geometry (required)
  • Algebra II or Intermediate Algebra or Calculus or Statistics or Math Analysis
D Science 20 credits (one year must include a lab)
  • 1 year of Life Science
·         1 year of Physical Science
E Foreign Language 10 credits Same Language
F Arts 10 credits Visual, Performing or Practical Arts
G Electives 75 credits Non-Specific

Graduating Class of 2011 through 2015

Beginning with the graduating class of 2011, students must complete 220 units of credit and complete units in the following specific content areas and minimum amounts in order to receive a high school diploma.  Five credits are the equivalent of one semester.
